C.O.D. in Tokyo

I was siphoning the WIFI connection at Fuglen when I came upon a tweet about C.O.D. where the author mentioned he ate the best chili dog. My plan to eat at Ahiru wine bar had failed and a chili dog sounded like an amazing idea.

C.O.D. is a short distance from the Gaiemmae metro station. The restaurant/ bar was empty on this cold and windy rainy night, but I was determined to try the chili dog.

The friendly staff confirmed to me that C.O.D. means cash on delivery which is the modus operandi of this diminutive, yet delicious restaurant.  I ordered a chili dog and  chili cheese fries.

I quickly realized the Lost in Translation moment when I received a chili burger. The chili burger looked really good, so I decided to just go for it and not make a fuss.  The burger was indeed juicy and delicious. I guess I will have to go back for the hot dog.

The fries were not too bad. In my mind, it’s the closest and most satisfying substitute for a poutine.

If my memory is right, the burger and fries were 1300 yen which is a much better deal that the meal I had at Shake Shack which is located a few min away.

The staff was friendly and I enjoyed a lovely chat, so I warmly recommend  C.O.D. and I will definitely come back to try the chili dog.
