Café by Hippolyte Courty : Review

J’ai découvert le livre Café d’Hippolyte Courty est écoutant le podcast On va déguster sur France Inter. J’habite le Japon depuis maintenant 8 ans et les livres en français sont un véritable luxe.  Voici un petit compte rendu.

I found this  book after listening to a French podcast.  I lived in Paris for a while, ages ago and Paris was not the coffee metropolis it is now.

Hippolyte Courty wrote an amazing book about coffee, if you speak French, well just read it.

If you don’t speak French, I guess you have an extra reason to learn la langue de Molière.

The book is separated in 11 sections: Tasting, Preparing, Learning, Knowing, Following, Believing, Forgettting, Being a militant, Planting, Transforming and Roasting.

You could call this a proper coffee manifesto and I hope it will be available sooner than later in English.  Mr Courty, if you are looking for a translator… n’hésitez pas à me contacter.

Hippolyte Courty is the mastermind behind L’arbre à café, a shop located in Paris which I hope to visit one day.

You can find more info at his website, you can also order the book from his website.
