Besso Coffee can be found inside the FLEX Gallery on route 180 which is also known as the Okayama Nishi By pass. It’s not in the center of the city, but it is easily accessible by car.
Starbucks is now in Vietnam. I won’t lie to you, the first time I visited Vietnam, I could not imagine Starbucks in the streets of Ho Chi Minh. The streets are changing quickly but I still can’t figure out if it’s for the best.
My third visit to Ho Chi Minh was marked by the major subway construction project taking place right in the center of the city and the numerous new restaurants which had sprung up since our last visit. The Workshop was on my list of new places to visit. The new coffee shop located right in the heart of Dong Khoi street attracted a lot of attention online and I went there the first day I landed in Vietnam.
After waking up quite early in a Tokyo , I decided to head to the famous Blue Bottle roastery near the Kiyosumishirikawa station.
The Mugshot in Georgetown is conveniently located on Chulia street right in the heart of the backpacker district and almost right across from the wantan mee stall I love so much.
サルビア珈琲 or Salvia coffee is a shop located in Yasugi, Shimane Prefecture. Yasugi is a town between Matsue and Yonago. Yasugi has no major attractions, but I somehow end up going there quite often: good onsen, good soba and amazing coffee.
Coutume Cafe, the coffee shop which originated in Paris in 2010, has landed in the depth of the Osaka underground city. It was a nostalgic visit, since I lived in Paris a few years ago, way before the arrival of the first Starbucks or anything ressembling the new Parisian third wave.

Drift Magazine is a new magazine about coffee originating from NYC which I found out about on Sprudge a while ago. I missed a chance to read their first New York issue, but I ordered the second one knowing that it would be about Tokyo.

Nam Heong is the most famous coffee shop in Ipoh and the original Old Town White Coffee Shop which can be found all over Malaysia.
The rain could not stop me making the one kilometer hike from my hotel to VCR coffee shop. Since we only spent one day in Kuala Lumpur, I decided to hit to coffee shops in the same day. Pulp in the morning and VCR in the afternoon.
When I got off at MidValley station, I wasn’t too sure how to get to Pulp Coffee, but I held my printed Google map and told my patient wife that it was over there, beyond the sea of buildings. After crossing a highway, a railroad track and a river, we ended up pretty much a hundred meters from the coffee shop. We did get lost at one point and walked into a mega mosque
This unique and very beautiful coffee shop is almost hidden in front of a industrial printing company.
Since I arrived in Japan and started discovering coffee shops, I have been recommended many places by coffee shop owners and Cafe Bimi was of course one of them. The owner of Orizuru in Okayama told me about Cafe Bimi a while ago since he is a good friend of the master and they travelled together to Africa to visit coffee farms in Ethiopia and Yemen. Let’s just say that Cafe Bimi which is located in Fukuoka city is just as charming and delicious as I was told it would be.
