Boke ramen ( ぼっけえ らーめん) is a popular Okayama ramen shop which has been recommended to me by friends and students and I finally visited the shop on a cloudy Monday. I must start by saying that my friends and students were right on the money, Boke ramen is worth the hype.

When Zundouya ramen opened recently in Kurashiki, I could not help but noticing the long line at the door and the packed parking. It left me wondering if this new ramen shop was any good and my curiosity was rewarded by a great bowl of ramen. I visited Takumi Ramen right after my Japanese teacher recommended it to me: I just love it when people share their coup-de-coeur. Apparently, this place is very famous, but I will let you judge by yourself. For the Okayama folks, Takumi Ramen can also easily be found since it’s right on the second floor of Okayama Station.
