Nakamura Tokichi Honten

We arrived at Uji station at 10h50 and pretty much  sprinted across the street to Nakamura tea shop to find that people were already waiting in line (the shop opens at 11h). In a city famous for tea, the most famous tea shop in town is a hell of a busy place.  Is it worth the run?  You bet!

Shittora Korean Restaurant

Tamashima is right across the river from where I live and when I heard about Shittora, a Korean restaurant, I didn’t wait too long to go and try it.  I always appreciate when I get suggestions online and this one turned out to be a good one.

Pizza Riva in Hiroshima

On my latest trip to Hiroshima, I decided to make the trek to the Yokogawa area and try Pizza Riva.  I found Pizza Riva on the Associazione Verace Pizza napoletana website, but one friend who lives in Hiroshima had already told me it was his favorite.

Miyamoto Motsunabe

Motsunabe is a Fukuoka speciality, if you have never heard of it, it’s a simple hot pot dish of offals cooked in a soy sauce based soup with plenty of garlic and garlic chive.   Motsunabe restaurants are legion in Fukuoka, but this time, we went to a smaller and less touristy place.
