The Silom branch of Kalpapruek from the outside doesn’t look like much. It’s conveniently located a short distance Surasak station in a quiet neighborhood.
I entered the restaurant from the back garden entrance and you have the option of eating outside. With the heat, I decided to head inside.
The restaurant is quite spacious and extremely busy. We were lucky to find a table.
The restaurant doubles as a pastry and bakery. Pretty impressive.
The cake selection was surprising.
We started our meal with the classic green papaya salad.
Here is a glorious close up.
We ordered two types of curries. One green curry, sorry for the blurry picture.
One red curry with duck.
We ordered two types of rice.
Whole grain type
We also ordered fried rice for our son.
We ended this great meal with a piece of carrot cake and a chocolate macaron.
The cake was spicy. My son ate half of it. The cake selection and the quality of the food would make me want to come back and explains why the place is so busy.
If you are looking for a slightly upscale version of the famous green curry, Kalpapruek might just be the place you are looking for.
The restaurant even sold fresh vegetables!
