Nagoya is a coffee town and it gave us the Komeda coffee chain which is sadly expanding all over Japan. If you are interested in drinking something else, Trunk Coffee might just be the place for you.

The Tsurajima area of Kurashiki is famous for renkon and huge factories. Pain Cafe Atelier is a small bakery just off the Mizutama Bridge Line. It’s also the only restaurant within a walking distance from my house.
Hocus Pocus / Little Nap Coffee Stand is a minimalist Donuts & Coffee shop that was conveniently located in front of the conference I attended in Tokyo. It’s the first time I visited this area of Tokyo which is a short distance from National Diet and the Imperial Palace.
Exploring Tokyo on a bicycle proved to be a great way to discover places I would probably never get to see otherwise. After grabbing lunch in from of the main gate of Yasakuni shrine, I headed back toward my hotel in Akasaka and stopped at Jupiters Coffee Roasters ジュピターズ コーヒー ロースターズ.
On a recent trip to Shimane Prefecture, we made a very brief stop at Kuri Kuri coffee 栗栗珈琲 in Masuda.
When I visited Melaka two years ago, I tried to visit Mods Cafe but got turned down by the staff because I walked in 5 min before they close down. This time, I got a slightly warmer reception.

I stumbled on Cafe St-Henri when I visited the Jean-Talon market. This is a satellite of the original cafe St-Henri located on rue Notre-Dame.
I read about Dispatch Coffee in the coffee press . I knew I had to visit Dispatch coffee as soon as I arrived in Montreal. I visited the main coffee shop and roastery located on St-Zotique West street. The area is mostly commercial and feels a bit like it’s the middle of nowhere, but it’s worth the visit.
Fukuoka remains one of my favorite city in Japan and like everywhere, the coffee scene is blooming. During this very short stay, I decided to visit Tokado coffee. Too many coffee shops, not enough time.
Chatei Hatou (茶亭羽當) is one of these coffee shop that keeps popping up in the coffee press. The shop is only a few minutes away from the iconic Shibuya crossing.
My wife found Hayashi Cafe (林のカフェ） on a blog. Located in Hayashi, there are almost no chances you run into this coffee shop well hidden behind trees. Hayashi Cafe is so nice, I wonder if I should even recommend it. I have a feeling this place will be very popular, maybe too popular.
