Wakadaisho ramen 若大将 is a small ramen shop located in Akaiwa city which offers some really good fried chicken (karaage).
I must insist and point out that Wakadaisho is a tiny shop where it is difficult to park or even get served if you arrive a bit late. The family who runs this ramen shop aren’t the fastest out there, but you can see that they pay great attentions to the final product.
The walls at Wakadaisho are covered with the menu.
I ordered the #2: Ramen, 2 pieces of chicken and a bowl of white rice. The soup is offered in 4 different strenght.
At 750 yen, this is a voluminous meal and a great deal.
The chicken is particularly good. Crispy and juicy and served with a mix of salt and pepper.
If you are around Akaiwa, Wakadaisho is a great place to grab a bite.
If you come by car, their parking lot is tiny. I should not say this, but the home center located a few meters away is a good place to park. Arrive early or expect a decent wait.
